YURDigital - Twisted - The Last Bed

Today was it, the last day. She settled down into the soft grass. A rockfall, probably from last spring by the regrowth, sheltered her from the sun, at least for now. The grass under her would die, from her own weight if not from the shade of the rock above. That didn't matter. Her lips were melted shut, now. For these last few days, she would have softness below her. Not another dusty, stony dark cave, but the soft grass and... green... her kin enjoyed. Her birthright, were it not for the defect that left her born of a substance most unsuitable for a dragon.

A hot tear prickled under her eyelid. The mist that had risen the night before had sealed her fate as well as her lips. She had unsealed her lips once before, when her claws were sharp. The molten stubs she had now would make no impact. Whichever took her first - hunger or the elements - she would die here on the grass, the ghostlight from a tunnel on one side, the sun raising crickets on the other.

The tear trickled down the path left by so many before it.

The dragon and cave are modelled in Sculptris, but everything assembled in Vue. Everything is mine, created for this project, save for the plants. Only decided to enter on Friday night lol! But here you are. Lost the computer yesterday as the Man needed it for work so not bad given the time required - although I would like to tweak the lighting further if I could. 3h15 rendertime on Idris.

Kind of gleeful re the chocolate textures as I have never managed to create a good chocolate before. The two I got happening in under five minutes! Nearly fell out of my chair... but then I ate the reference.

The story is kind of dark, but that was my mood at the time of writing. One version had the Tundra Queen come along and save the day.
