Gallifrey Returns by Lupus-deus-est Gallifrey Returns by Lupus-deus-est
I've had to sit on this piece for ages as it's a massive file and I haven't had the internet to upload it. But here it is!
This piece, as you may have guessed, is in celebration of the return of Gallifrey and the Time Lords to Doctor Who!
(squee!)
I do hope they keep them returned. I mean, they've twisted the plot a) making the entire race die - I mean, wouldn't the Time Lords have thought of this at the start of the conflict? Put a few very secret Torchwood-esque bases on unlikely planets? and b) bringing the damn planet and race back after all the stupidity of insisting that they are all dead. I mean, the only reason they wiped them out in the first place was likely to appease today's hypersuspicious Church - there can, after all, in their viewpoint, be only one "God" figure.
I could go on, but I shan't. :) Enjoy The End of Time, and I hope I didn't spoil too badly! I spoiled less than the trailers did, that's for sure...

GORGEOUS!
also, very pretty.
and i completely agree with RTD getting it just enough to try, but fail miserably at life. the only good thing he ever did was go "hey, let's revive this very popular british show". well, that and he succeeded in making me cry miserably and refuse to watch TW series 3 a second time.
well, okay. one more thing. the way the Master went out. that made me cry, but it was a good cry. it reminded me of Darth Vader at the end of Return of the Jedi... odd.
ANYWAY! WAHEY! this is GORGEOUS!

Beautiful job and yeah I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Gallifrey needed to return. Frankly the Daleks were starting to becoming the cockroaches of reality.

Sadly though after watching the episode I see why the Doctor didn't want them to return, though I felt the Time Lords should have been dealt a better hand. Also.. Lord President 'Rassilon?' Davies, think of the Old Fans who know better, please!

The Master said they ressurected him. Maybe they did that to Rassilon. Or maybe the President is an egomaniac who named himself after Rassilon.

I would have preferred it had Gallifrey stayed "dead" until RTD was gone... personally I think he should have written Midnight and Midnight only. The return of Gallifrey should have been written by someone a tad more skilled than RTD... He makes things fail - not so badly as Fear Her, to be sure, but in a different way also.
He pulls up random wits of the show's mythos and mutilates them completely. He seems to think it's fine to change facts to suit what he desires. Has he never watched the old series? Did he just read the New Adventures books? Or listen to the radioplays? It's like he almost understands, but gets it terribly, terribly wrong.
(It's also like he never read the official, non-fan history of Gallifrey. Terry Nation got away with the whole history-change thing once, and for good reason, but RTD seems to fail to understand that you can't do a Genesis of the Daleks every single episode. And his reset buttons drive me up the wall!
I could go on.

I was actually looking for one which was really an excellent depiction of my reaction to Journey's End. I can't find it...

oh my, Gallifrey. I never thought the return of Gallifrey could be so scary! Your picture, however, is very beautiful!
