Ok. So I haven't posted since I bought The Gathering Storm... I'm going to try to hold off on the spoilerish squee, but let's just say Verin Mathwin is made of awesomesauce. She is amazing. For a while I felt horror - was my favourite character a bad guy? - but then... Verin Mathwin is AWESOMENESS. I wish I could say more about Verin's awesome awesomness here, but...

That stamp I put on the right there really really really is merited now. And I wish it wasn't... I had finished reading it by 11pm the day I bought it (9am your (American (somewhere)) time; I had to run around a bit), but I still rerererererereread that bit.

Ok. In other news! My thyroid has finally normalised! So essentially now we have the right balance all I need to do is continue this dosage and we'll check that I'm still balanced (lol) in 3 months (instead of 6 weeks!). Yay!

On the other hand...

I have recently discovered I have had an ear infection for some time. This made me veerrrrry sick for the first week of exams and a couple of weeks before then. As a consequence, I was unable to do my Maths exam on the 7th (Nov) and now need to do it during the special exam block - between the 16th and the 18th of December. This gives me a bit of a reprieve as I was rather behind in that subject. Whilst I still need 72% on the exam to pass (the exam is worth 70% of the course, and I was unable to obtain special assessment to replace the weekly tutorials, which are problematic for another medical condition I have), I now have another few weeks to look at the course stuff and study.
The downside is, of course, that the 16th of December is my birthday, and so the best i can hope for is my Maths exam to be on my birthday so i can relax that evening. If the exam takes place on the 17th or 18th, I will be stuck studying for my entire birthday.

If the exam is on the 16th, I am also going to wear a party hat into the exam and try for pity marks.

I did do the PHYS2082 (Space Science and Stellar Astrophysics) exam on the day... golly, that was a beautiful exam. I really should have studied more on white dwarfs... I didn't recognise a question on the maths of the Chandrasekhar limit... lol. Me fail. I also couldn't think of words to state why stars leave the main sequence (2 marks) and what energy drives white dwarfs (2 marks). Or course, the answers to these are (The hydrogen fuel in the core has been consumed) and (nuclear). There was also another question about the virial equation - what two things does it refer to (2 marks), which I just went "uh" about. I knew vaguely of it, having heard my peers discussing it that morning, but I couldn't tell you anything more for the life of me! Apart from that it had stuff to do with galaxy size. (As it is, I still have no idea as to what it refers... 2K+U=0... kinetic energy and internal energy? huh?) I think I need to ask someone on that...

Hmmm.
Not happy with them at the moment. Long story. My mother's USB internet key apparently used 5GB whilst sitting doing nothing on her bedside table... FAIL. But we're still stuck with the $700 bill.
It'd be easier if I could see the itemized bill... but wonder of all wonders, every time they send us a suspicious bill like this, the itemized bill never turns up. It's meant to be emailed to us.
As it is, I would like to see it (the itemized bill) so I can see if the chatrooms here are responsible. Anyone know how much chatrooms take? (Downloadwise, I mean.) I very much doubt if it was them however as my activity in the rooms this month has been limited!
Needless to say, we are very likely to leave 3 Mobile as soon as we can afford the exit fee for the contract. Mind you, we might even do it anyway; an immediate payment of $49 x remaining months will still be cheaper than paying hundreds of dollars every month for service we don't receive. We've tried talking to 3 peoples, but of course they're all over in India, and don't seem to have a clue what we're talking about. And my Remaining Quota thing is very very slow to update; my mother's has simply never been there.

Teh Waters of Mars came out! Wow! It was like RTD never had anything to do with it... it had tension, a reasonable plot, no hammyness... wow. Thank God for that! I think I need to see it on a place other than Youtube befor I pass more definitive judgment upon it, though.
